Second OrganiCity Open Call Clinic held in Santander

A quite heterogeneous group gathered last Thursday 9th June at UC’s R&D building, when OrganiCity’s Santander celebrate its second Clinic. Hosted by University of Cantabria and OrganiCity’s partners Santander City Council and TST, the event represented the chance to let potential applicants engage with each other and also solve their most pressing doubts before the project’s 1st Open Call.

Juan Echevarria, from Santander City Council, opened the session with a brief introduction summarizing the most important OrganiCity project and Open Call points. Afterwards, the event turned to proceeding with diverse brief meetings among participants whose experiments and/or ideas belong to a same theme and challenge, but with different profiles and needs.

These themes were chosen according to the interests identified during registration for the event, which are: urban mobility, tourism, environment, retail and neighborhood improvement. It was gratifying to see the synergies produced between participants, who even established various partnerships.

Upon completion of these talks, participants also had the chance of discussing with OrganiCity Santander cluster members aspects related with the most technical features of the project’s platform, how to apply and what is the legal framework and time schedule they have to adjust to.

We would like to thank all attendees for their participation, and highlight the fact that some of them came not only from other spanish regions apart from Santander (i.e. La Rioja and Madrid), but also from other european countries (i.e. Netherlands and Belgium). That is quite a good indicator of all the interest OrganiCity is raising in the community and the degree of impact dissemination activities, mainly the social media related ones, are able to reach.

Now it is time to proceed with the translation of all those good ideas discussed during the clinic into valid applications and hope they get the funding they deserve. Be aware of OrganiCity novelties through the social media, such as Twitter or OrganiCity Santander Facebook page.
