If you are interested in applying for our 2017 Open Call, join us to learn more about the London city challenges and get inspiration for your experiment proposal:
Whether you have an idea in mind or you have just started to think about it; the workshop will help you from generating ideas to expanding and developing these into more concrete concepts.
To get the most out of the workshop, we would encourage you to think about an issue that you are interested in or feel very strongly about. What skills could you bring to an experiment? What are you passionate about?

Join us for the showcase of our first OrganiCity experiments and an introduction to the second open call in 2017.
Experimenters will present their projects and be available to discuss how they used data in experimentation and share their learnings.
During the evening, we will demonstrate the OrganiCity tools which can help you to experiment, collect data and prototype. You can find more about the technical environment.
Perhaps you have already some ideas in mind: we have an area for one-to-one advice where you can ask specific questions to the team.
But the most important question is: What do you want to get out of it? We recommend reading through the Open Call Instructions and the previous experiments on our website.
Come along to connect with other interested in experimenting!

Digital experiences and urban data belong together, but not much has been explored within this space.
This day digital creatives, data wizards, and urban gamers are invited to join forces to explore this topic together in relation to the funding and experimentation opportunities in OrganiCity. One of the previously supported experiments in OrganiCity will share their experiences and alternative use of data.
Join us to meet inspiring new people and learn more about open data, smart city experimentation, and the opportunities it creates for digital experiences and urban solutions.
Time: 17:00 – 19:00
Ideas Lab, Filmbyen 19, 8000 Aarhus

This workshop will bring together experimenters who have already obtained funding in the 1st Open Call along with people in the know and new stakeholders interested in developing experiments funded by the OrganiCity project.
The previous experiences in the preparation of the experimental proposals will be analysed in order to identify the good practices and to solve the difficulties and barriers encountered in the previous call. This will conduce to the creation of a route from the conception of the experiment idea to its formation in an official valid proposal.
During the event, there will be an exchange of ideas, with special emphasis on the process of experimentation in all its phases.
In addition, participants will be invited to propose some new challenges and will be encouraged to create multidisciplinary teams for the design of experiments. Come and take part of the OrganiCity experience!
Register here for Monday, 10th April, 17:00 – 19:30

This workshop will gather experimenters, communities and authorities to map the current ecosystem of digital experimentation in London. We will explore our experiences with innovation, make connections and start to create bridges.
The event will build on the journeys that attendees have experienced whilst innovating in the digital space (experimenting, proving a concept, etc) and incorporate the experience of experimentation with urban data and IoT in the framework of OrganiCity. We want to include different voices in the event to create an inclusive service that facilitates experimentation.

Who is hosting this event and why?
OrganiCity is testing how the cities of the future can enable experimentation with urban data as a service for citizens and communities. Last year, OrganiCity funded 25 experiments with urban data in London, Aarhus and Santander. As we prepare to launch our next open call in Summer 2017, we are trying to understand how this service might become more sustainable. This workshop will help us improve the process to facilitate experimentation in our complex ecosystem.
The project is not-for-profit and funded by the European Commission. Future Cities Catapult and Intel ICRI Labs are some of the partners developing OrganiCity and will be the hosts of this event.

Join us on Thursday, December 8th, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, to celebrate the first round of experiments with urban data in London, Aarhus and Santander. Meet the citizens, initiatives and companies experimenting in London and testing how our future cities could offer Experimentation as a Service for citizens and communities.
OrganiCity evolves technologies and services that keep citizens at the core of the city’s growth. We believe smart cities must develop around the needs of citizens and enable citizen action. On December 8th, we are bringing together the winners of OrganiCity’s first open call for experiments in London to talk about the tools and methods they are using to co-create smart city solutions in their local communities.
Our experimenters in London are working on a variety of urban challenges: well-being in overcrowded housing; the accessibility of our transport network; mobile pollution sensing in our streets and buildings; mobility for the visually impaired; live traffic conditions; procurement efficiency; the quality of water in our rivers, and the effect of tranquility in the city.
This launch event is a great opportunity to learn more about OrganiCity, meet the experiment teams in London, and find out how you can get involved in their experiments or create your own in our future open calls.
This event is free and open to the public.
