OrganiCity Open Call Clinic held in Aarhus

On 11th May we had our first clinic in Aarhus. The clinic was a part of the big annual festival Internet Week Denmark and therefore Dokk1 in Aarhus was filled with interesting and exciting events that week. This fact created a good dynamic and the people who attended the event were already in a creative mood when the clinic opened its doors.

The clinic offered experimenters assistance with the open call application process and networking opportunities for those looking to collaborate. 15 people attended the event.

As a part of the registration process, we offered the attendees to sign up for a networking session if that held any interest for them. A number of participants in earlier OrganiCity events had requested a workshop like this.

It turned out that all the participants requested to join the networking session, so we decided to make a program as follows:

12.00 – 12.10: Arrival + sandwiches

12.10 – 12.25: Short presentation of OrganiCity incl. the application process, relevant documents, city challenges FAQ

12.25 – 12.45: Presentation of OrganiCity tools

12.45 – 13.00: Networking workshop around the table: Who are you? Why are you here?

13.00 – 13.30: Conversation salon/free networking according to the different cluster challenges

13.30 – 13.45: Break

13.45 – 15.00: Open stations

The day opened with a short presentation of OrganiCity and the project’s progress so far. Afterwards, the different tools and relevant documents were introduced to the participants after which the networking session took place. After the presentations, the different stations opened and while the networking continued, the stations were eagerly visited. Most of the participants had great ideas for experiments and the variety of ideas were big.

The clinic had four stations: Tech, Legal Matters, Application Process and Co-Creation.

All stations were visited although it was definitely the Application process and Tech station was most in demand.

All in all the clinic went very well. We will hold another clinic just in time for the first open call deadline on 29th June.
