OrganiCity Open Call Clinic held in London
We held London’s first OrganiCity Open Call Clinic at the Urban Innovation Centre on 24th May, with partners Imperial College and Intel.
The clinic offered experimenters face-to-face assistance with the open call application process and networking opportunities for those looking to collaborate. The event was well attended, with more than 40 registrants from across the city.
The evening opened with a brief introduction to OrganiCity and the project’s progress so far and then invited questions regarding the OrganiCity platform, tools and open call process. Networking activities throughout the evening also gave participants the chance to meet and discuss their experiments with others in our community.
Some of the more frequently asked questions included:
- Where can I find more information about the tools and data services?
Check out our recently published “experimentation as a service” document, which not only explains the individual tools, but how the whole OrganiCity platform works.
- When will the results of the open call be available?
We expect to publish the results for the first deadline at the end of August. News will follow about the second and third deadlines.
- Is it ok for experiments to be based solely in London?
Yes. Local projects are very much a part of OrganiCity – and who knows, perhaps a good idea for London might one day be a good idea elsewhere.
We will hold another clinic on the 14th June, just in time for the first open call deadline on the June 29th. You can register now. Hope to see you there!
