Keep Calm and Carry On – OrganiCity London continues

Londonlondon, Open Call

A quick post for our followers, friends and future experimenters.

During our recent clinics in London the question was asked – “What will happen to OrganiCity if the U.K. votes to leave the EU?”. The answer then, as now, is that OrganiCity continues, as planned, and fully funded for the full duration of the project.

This means that the current open call (deadline next Wednesday!) remains open to all U.K. citizens – there is no change. In addition, the rolling call which continues this year, and the subsequent second open call for experimentation in 2017 will both continue as planned.

Beyond this, it has always been part of the plan for OrganiCity, once established, to find a means by which the platform and experimentation service should become self-sustaining beyond the initial project funding period. We will continue in Aarhus, London and Santander, and we will welcome more cities too. This is more than just a project – it’s a movement towards better cities.

We can’t wait to see how the community, in the U.K. and across the eligible countries around the world will contribute with creativity, talent and innovation during the open calls for experimentation, and how we will together design and build a better process and platform for the co-creation of smarter future cities.
